Underwriting Assistant - Coastal & Inland

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Coastal and Inland department as an Underwriting Assistant in our Newcastle or London office. In this role, you will be assisting in the provision of a quality underwriting service to insureds, members or their brokers. All assistance is to be provided in line with Department procedures and guidelines.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
- General Policy maintenance and
- Administration for the Underwriting
- Data
- Creation and editing of policy documentation, including manual editing of PDF documents where necessary.
- Maintaining members’ and insureds’
- Updating
- Assisting Underwriting Executives to maintain service
- Following the Rules and procedures of the Company and operating within authority levels as
- Carrying out other duties as requested by
Ensuring the interests of Policyholders and the Association are protected and reflect our Company ethos by always providing service excellence to Policyholders and colleagues.
Ad Hoc Duties
Your key accountabilities will include such other duties and tasks are as allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.
About you
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint,
- Excel and Outlook)
- IT Literate with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
- Efficient & effective administration skills, with particular emphasis on attention to detail concerning work produced.
- Educated to at least A-level standard.
- Honesty and integrity with ability to manage confidential information.
- Highly proactive and reliable in task completion and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to cope with demanding workloads.
