MyGlobeView
MyGlobeView is an award winning advanced interactive geographical information portal exclusively for North entered Members and correspondents.
This digital resource builds on the success of our public-facing GlobeView platform and offers greater personalisation combined with a broader range of regularly updated data sources to assist those involved in shipping operations.
The platform has over 60 regularly updated data sources, including:
- COVID-19 Tracker (winner of the 2020 SAFETY4Sea Technology Award).
- Additional trading and commercial risk data, including current P&I risks and OFAC updates.
- Richer port information including port infrastructure points, lines and areas.
- Meteorological information, highlighting tidal patterns and active hurricanes.
- Travel advice from the UK, USA, Australia and Canada.
- Our First Call contact information for USA ports.
- VPS bunker analysis.
- Country corruption indexes.
- North’s Correspondents’ details
- A news feed detailing updates from reputable trade news outlets.
MyGlobeView has been produced in conjunction with our partner Geollect, an innovative geospatial intelligence company. Route Risk Advice
Route Risk Advice is an advanced interactive geographical route planning solution exclusively available to North Members and correspondents through the international award winning MyGlobeView platform.
Route Risk Advice is specifically designed to help users better understand the potential hazards of a voyage, including any risks associated with the planned departure and arrival ports. Users simply plot a vessel’s route and receive a detailed report on the likely hazards along the route, allowing for the proactive management of any identified risks.
The reports are uniquely supplemented with North’s in-house expertise and knowledge from our claims, FD&D and loss prevention teams. The format and content of the reports are easy to use and understand, having been developed alongside feedback from our Members, ensuring that the information is timely and useful in supporting shipping plans and operations.
In summary, the Route Risk Advice tool provides:
- Access to all 60+ data feeds from MyGlobeView.
- Bespoke reports based on specific routes and locations in both PDF and printed formats.
- Easy comparisons with previous reports. Users can save frequently visited routes or areas, so there’s no need to recreate a new report each time.
- A new measurement tool to accurately measure the distance between specific points on the interactive map.
- Notifications when new data sets are available or if there’s been any changes to the platform.
- Users with the ability to give immediate feedback, report any issues in accessibility or make suggestions for improvements and/or new data feeds.

Route Risk Advice Resources
GlobeView
GlobeView is an interactive 3D globe providing port index information, sanctions updates, selected weather reports and maritime threats and incidents.
The information is sourced through our partner Geollect, an innovative geospatial intelligence company, which provides a synthesis of cutting-edge data feeds from public sources with proven advanced geospatial analysis. Geollect provides information, analysis and assessments relating to the commercial risks and physical threats (‘enduring risks’) faced by the shipping industry and seafarers, around the world.
Daily updates also highlight ‘current incidents’ and JWC Listed Areas but no warranty or guarantee can be given as to the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of the information and other related content.
