Sanctions imposed on Ukraine/Russia by the United States and European Union have significantly impacted ability to trade. In response to Russian actions in respect of Ukraine, the US and UK have introduced further sanctions, with the EU to follow suit.

It is important to note that sanctions are already in place against Russia and the Crimea, as detailed in North’s Guide to Sanctions.  It is also the case that further sanctions are highly likely in the coming days should the tension not ease.
