Senior Promotion at North East Shipping and Marine Insurer
Newcastle-based shipping and marine insurer, North P&I Club, has announced the Promotion of Mark Widdows as Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations.
The promotion comes as North focuses on strategic growth, both in its Newcastle headquarters and across the insurer’s international operations.
The new leadership position has been created to further provide strategic direction at North on IT and infrastructure, adding value and making a difference to support high performance across the business. Mark will report directly to James Holmes, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at North.
Mark joined North in 2001 and brings more than twenty years of extensive experience to the role.
From office moves, mergers and growth, Mark has seen major change within North and has managed IT operations across the business at an international level.
Mark commented: “I’m looking forward to working closely with our CIO in supporting in the continued development of our strategic vision and road map, ensuring that North’s information technology capabilities continually support our overall business goals.”
“Our objective is to be the club of choice for the global shipping and maritime industry, and our strategic growth plan will help to propel us towards this goal.”
