U.S. Coast Guard Issues Final Rule On Ballast Water Management
The United States Coastguard has issued regulations on Standards for Living Organisms in Ships’ Ballast Water Discharged in U.S. Waters.
The regulations amend existing ballast water management regulations and create a standard for the allowable concentration of living organisms in ballast water discharged in U.S. waters which is consistent with the International Maritime Organization’s International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM Convention).
Our LP Briefing on these ballast water management regulations can be read here.
