Update – 2 September 2015

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has announced the suspension of the first draft restriction that was scheduled to go into effect 8 September 2015. A copy of the press release can be found here.

11 August 2015

The Panama Canal Authority (PCA) have issued an advisory notice to shipping (A-24-2015) detailing proposals for transiting vessels to be aware of draft restriction which come into force on 8 September 2015. These restrictions will come into force as a result of the “El Nino” weather patterns effecting water levels within the Gatun and Alhajuela lakes.
