Instability in the Persian Gulf Region
Due to the recently reported United States military strikes in Iraq, ships operating in the Gulf region are reminded to remain vigilant.
Members should ensure that all vessels have conducted a thorough voyage risk assessment and plan their transits in accordance with BMP5 as advised by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations notice UKMTO-10#99.
Members are also encouraged to report to all voluntary reporting schemes when operating in the region.
