Honduras oil spill response requirements take effect in Puerto Cortes
New Honduran regulations on oil spill response arrangements are expected to come into force in the port of Puerto Cortes on 26 May 2018.
The oil spill response regulations, which require the nomination of an approved oil spill response organisation (OSRO), were originally scheduled to enter into force on a national basis earlier this year. They were subsequently suspended, but Honduran authorities have now advised that they will take effect as of 26 May 2018, but only in the port of Puerto Cortes.
