Honduras: Oil Spill Response Requirements Deferred
New regulations on oil spill response requirements in Honduras have been postponed until further notice.
The Honduran oil spill response regulations, which required the nomination of an approved oil spill response organisation (OSRO), were originally scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2018. This was subsequently deferred until 15 January 2018.
It has now been reported by local correspondents Agencia Mivigar that the requirements will not come into force on 15 January and have been suspended indefinitely.
North will provide further updates when they become known.
