Enclosed Spaces - New IMO Training Regulations
The IMO introduced new SOLAS, Chapter III, regulation 19, requirements on 1 January 2015. Under Resolution MSC.350(92) Amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, crew members who might become involved with enclosed space entry or rescue operations are required to participate in drills at least once in every two months.
The IMO have also published a circular relating to the early Implementation of SOLAS, Chapter XI-1, Regulation 7, about atmosphere testing instruments: Guidelines to Facilitate the Selection of Portable Atmosphere Testing Instruments for Enclosed Spaces
