China – Navigate with Caution Due to Sea Ice
The temperatures currently being recorded in Northern China are at a record low.
It has been reported by the National Marine Environmental Forecast Centre that currently the general thickness of floating ice in the Liaodong Bay region is 10 to 20 cm, with a maximum thickness of 35cm.
In the port of Yingkou, the Maritime Safety Administration – MSA –has recommended that the following vessels do not call due to the sea ice:
1. Single hull tankers.
2. Oil and Chemical tankers.
3. LNG tankers over 12 years of age.
4. Vessels less than 1600 GT.
