We have today, 8 November 2018, been made aware of a scam email targeting members of North P&I Club.
The scam email purports to be from an employee from North P&I Club with the subject heading ‘Invoice Available’ and claims that an invoice requires immediate payment. The email is being falsely issued from the following domain: name.name@nepiacom and contains the following text:
Dear Customer,
I just got your message from yesterday, our phone system needs a serious upgrade. All the invoices attached to this email are unpaid. I just separated the outstanding ones from the new ones.
We look forward to working with you.

There has been no data security breach at North P&I but anyone receiving unsolicited emails of this nature from the Club should treat them with caution, double check the sender details and telephone numbers. If there is any doubt as to the authenticity of an email, forward it to your own IT support function before opening any attachments or links. Any emails received from the name.name@nepiacom domain should be immediately deleted and disregarded.
The Club is urging all Members to be vigilant of cybercrimes and phishing scams of this type where criminals pretend to be legitimate suppliers in order to obtain sensitive personal and business information. North has previously advised Members of this common scam and the simple steps that they can take to protect their interests.
